On Tuesday, we finished the film and students participated in a short discussion for participation points. Tomorrow there is a Unit One Assessment with short answers; if students earn a higher grade than last week's effort, the improved mark will be entered in Skyward.

We completed the segment from "Edward Scissorhands" (26:00-52:00), and students completed the writing assignment on the reverse side of yesterday's handout.
For homework, students should review key terms and concepts in Unit One. Yikes! I forgot to remind students about the Unit One Assessment, originally scheduled for Thursday, so I am changing the date to Friday. To be clear, the Unit One Assessment will be Friday! In class today, students we watched another segment of "Edward Scissorhands," starting at 26:00 minutes. Students worked on the first page of this handout and will complete it for homework.
Tomorrow, we'll finish watching this segment and begin working on writing analytical statements supported by evidence and reflective commentary.

Today, students completed a peer review activity on the drafts of their reflective essays. On Friday, we'll be in the computer lab. The final essay is due to Turnitin by midnight on Friday.

I assigned six questions to respond to based on the James Baldwin essay, "Stranger in the Village." These responses will count as a quiz grade.
