Tues. 1/19 Final study guide; watch “Big Fish," double-entry log, analytical statement w/ support
Wed. 1/20 Finish film, double-entry log, reflective commentary, and closure statement
Thurs. 1/21 planning a draft, graphic organizer, thesis statement
Fri. 1/22 planning a draft, body paragraph: topic outline
Mon. 1/25 check thesis statement, graphic organizer, outline; review MLA; take vocabulary final
Tues. 1/26 Finals 3, 5, 1
Wed. 1/27 Last day of 1st semester; finals 2, 4, 6
Thurs. 1/28 First day of 2nd semester! Assembly at 8:45
Fri. 1/29 Teacher work day - No school
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we finished watching Tim Burton's "Big Fish." For each viewing, students added another entry to their double-entry reading logs. In addition, students followed the directions on page 158 to write an analytical statement with textual support, reflective commentary, and closure. I collected these, provided feedback, and returned them to students.
On Thursday and Friday, students will be working on the Planning a Draft activities (graphic organizer, outline) on pages 164-166.
