Today, two more acting companies--Sparkly Ponies and Flying Unicorns--presented their scenes! Students completed their reflection/evaluation and the staging notebooks are now due for grading.
Today was the first day of performances! The Rabid Monkeys and E & C Company performed scenes from "Romeo and Juliet." We'll have two more performances on Tuesday; at that time staging notebooks will be due.
After finishing a film adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet," students have had class time to polish their performances and prepare their staging notebooks for Friday's dramatic interpretations of scenes from the play.

In class today, students worked in their acting companies! We went to the drama storage room and scrounged for costumes and props. In addition, students took group photos on the stage.
We finished reading "Romeo and Juliet" today! Tomorrow, there will be a reading quiz on Acts Four and Five.
Today, students read along to an audio-recording of Act Five, Scenes One and Two. For the remainder of the class period, acting companies met to work on the performances, due next week.

Also, I handed out scripts to each group which will be used to create the acting notebooks and the director's notebook. Today, most students highlighted their parts and began to work on paraphrasing their lines.
Several students shared their memorized lines before we returned to Act Four. Reading along to a dramatic audiobook, we finished the last two scenes of Act Four. Then, students had about twenty minutes to meet in their acting companies. I met with each company, and encouraged them to consider staging, set design, costumes, props, lighting, and sound effects.
